Name, contact details, occupation, company name or workplace, company or university affiliation, industry, region/country, topics you are interested in and any other information you choose to share, IP address for cookies/tracking tag for Google Analytics (refer to  our cookie policy below)

How we collect your data

  • Directly from you (when you request information from Proteas, when you fill out for receiving emails from Proteas, via our online forms on our Contact Us, in the course of responding to your enquiry and/or providing services to you, when you agree to participate in surveys, voluntarily complete a customer survey or provide feedback on any of our message boards or via email, or apply for a role at Proteas

  • Third party referrals/ other people give it to us (for example, your employer or adviser, or third- party service providers that we use to help operate our business)

  • Social media sites and other public internet sites, such as LinkedIn

  • Public resources such as telephone directories, newspapers, internet sites, commercially available marketing lists, registries or public records.

How we use your data

Proteas collects your data so that we can:

  • Validate and analyse survey and diagnostics

  • Conduct general research, including creating or updating aggregate benchmark data sets and reports

  • Provide our services

  • Develop new products and services

  • Provide and update benchmark data and analysis

  • Validate and update our products and services

  • Facilitate the business through communication with corporate clients and other business contacts, for example, to communicate about vendor briefings or details of conferences or webinars

  • For internal analysis and research to help us improve our services

  • Send marketing to business contacts regarding our services and products which may be of interest and to promote our business and brand

  • Monitor social media content to manage relations with our clients and promote our business and brand

  • Conduct due diligence checks 

  • For client account opening and other administrative tasks

  • For financial accounting, invoicing and risk analysis

  • For relationship management, which may involve:

(a) sending you thought leadership or details of our products and services;

(b) contacting you for feedback on services;

(c) sending you event invitations; and

(d) other marketing or research purposes;

  • If you have applied for a job at Proteas, your data will be processed for the purposes of evaluating and processing your application and candidacy for the position to which you have applied

  • Where we need to comply with a legal obligation

  • Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests

  • Where it is necessary in order to protect your vital interests or someone else’s vital interests

  • Where you have consented to the processing

Data security

 

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal information from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal information to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal information on our instructions, and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected data security breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected breach where we are legally required to do so.

We use a range of measures to ensure we keep your personal data secure, accurate and up to date. These include:

  • education and training to relevant staff to ensure they are aware of our privacy obligations when handling personal data;

The transmission of data over the internet (including by e-mail) is never completely secure. So, although we use appropriate measures to try to protect personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted to us or by us.
